Job Title : Finance and Administration Manager
Reports to  : Chief of Party
Location          : Dar es Salaam
Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership for all aspects of Feed the Future Tanzania Advancing Youth (AY) administrative and financial management, including budgeting, tracking, reporting and accounting of finances and procurement; office facility and vehicle park logistics management, human resources and vendor contracts
  • Supervise AY staff in financial reporting, grants management, and subcontracting for USAID, DAI and Tanzanian law compliance
  • Ensure AY administrative, operations and finance teams function efficiently to support the technical implementation of the project;
  • Oversee the daily financial operations of the project, which include cash flow management, time sheet recording, managing pipeline, assisting with financial projections & budgeting, ensuring bank reconciliations and wire requests are submitted correctly and in a timely fashion, verifying vouchers and entries in FAS as well as timely uploads of project expenses in accordance with DATs Financial calendar reporting to USAID on the financial aspects of the project, and daily monitoring of obligations, budgets, and expenditures;
  • Investigate and identify new way of achieving project efficiencies. Provide compliance training to procurement, finance, and M&E staff, including fraud prevention and reporting;
  • Identify potential areas of financial vulnerability that are high risk. Develop and implement practical corrective action plans to resolve issues;
  • Conduct spot checks of procurement documentation, financial records, etc.;
  • Supervise Senior Accountant, Office Manager, HR Officer, Procurement Officer, and administrative team;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Master’s in Business. Finance, Accounting, or a similar relevant field;
  • Demonstrated experience with funds control, monitoring of fraud and abuse and demonstrated success in managing sub-contracts/sub-grants with international consortiums including local organizations and NGOs;
  • Minimum eight years of experience of which at least five years must be overseas in financial management of large, complex, donor-funded projects, with demonstrated experience with funds control, monitoring of fraud and abuse and demonstrated success in managing sub-contracts/sub-grants with international consortiums including local organizations and NGOs;

POSITION: ​Adaptation Manager
REPORTS TO: ​Chief Product Officer
LOCATION:​ Tanzania or Kenya
We’re looking for an ​ADAPTATION MANAGER​ who will ensure the quality adaptation of our programs for distribution across multiple platforms by working with our business and production teams, education specialists, translators, dubbing studios, and other partners.
Our current project involves adapting our content into Kikuyu, Luo, Kinyarwanda, Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, and Twi. However, we have multiple opportunities to adapt into other languages.
QUALITY CONTROL:
  • Ensure quality adaptation of Ubongo’s TV and radio programs into new languages for distribution across Africa
PARTNER MANAGEMENT:
  • Act as the primary liaison​between adaptation partners and Ubongo staff
  • Coordinate with Ubongo staff to develop and lead trainings and workshops to onboard consultants and dubbing partners
  • Conduct weekly check-ins with consultants to understand adaptation challenges and to maintain supportive relationships
  • Collaborate with dubbing studios, translators, reviewers, and other consultants to ensure the accuracy and quality of the content
PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
  • Develop an effective structure that will enable Ubongo to adapt content for new markets, including:
○ Identify internal and external partners and their necessary skills
○ Develop project timelines for each language and coordinate with partners to meet deadlines
○ Identify challenges in the current process and develop solutions to address these challenges
○ Document effective processes and train internal and external teams on these processes
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support the business and development team in identifying new markets and languages
  • Coordinate post-production adaptation of visuals and compilation of final episodes
  • Track and manage the adaptation budget
Our Adaptation Manager will:

The Ubongo Grants Manager will be responsible for applying for grants and managing grants through their lifetime, acting as the key point of contact for funders and the coordinator for project implementation at Ubongo and with our partners.
REQUIREMENT​:
TO BE A MATCH, YOU’LL NEED TO BE:
  • Ready and able to take on all the challenges listed below (and many more, down the line) as we scale! This probably means you’ll have a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree and at least 3 years experience in project management.
