Currently, NCU (1984) LTD is carrying out a major social-economic transformation and modernization of its services to member Primary Cooperative Societies. Therefore, needs to invite applications from suitable and qualified candidates to fill the following senior posts below:
CHIEF INTERNAL AUDITOR

Qualification and Experience:

  • A University Degree/Advanced Diploma from a reputable Institution with a major in Auditing or Accountancy.
  • Must be a registered with NBAA.
  • CPA is an added advantage.
  • Must have worked for at least 4 years in Auditing field with a managerial position.
  • Must have intensive Knowledge with IFRS and NBAA Standards.
  • Computer literate and Writing/fluency in Kiswahili or English language.
  • Age limit 25 – 40 years old.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Head of Auditing department of the Union.
  • Ensure the Accounting System of the Union is adhered to as per the adopted International Standards (IFRS).
  • Setting up the audit Programmes covering the entire Union activities.
  • Compilation of periodic and annual audit reports and presentation for appropriate action.
  • To assist the external Auditors to execute their duties/functions.
  • Make follow-up of reports of external auditors and Registrar of Co-operative Societies and advises management on how to execute.
  • Pre-Audit of all transactions of the Union.
  • Ascertaining that Inspections are conducted to ensure proper management of the Funds and Assets of the Union.
  • Reporting to the General Manager.

ACCOUNTANT

Qualification and Experience:

  • A University Degree or Advanced Diploma from a reputable Institution with a major in Accountancy.
  • Must be registered with NBA (Registered with NBA).
  • CPA is added advantage.
  • Must have worked for at least 4 years in Accounting field with a managerial position.
  • Must have intensive Knowledge with IFS and NBA Standards.
  • Computer literate and Writing/fluency in Kiswahili or English language.
  • Age limit 25-40 years

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To monitor and record financial transaction according to the Cooperative policies and regulations.
  • To prepare monthly financial reports such as Bank Reconciliation and Journal entries.
  • Coordinate with finance team to complete assigned according to tasks within deadlines.
  • Generate financial report and statements to the General Manager for review,
  • To advice the General Manager on all matters concern or relating to Finance and Accounting.
  • To supervise and monitor the transfer of fund to AMCOS Accounts.
  • Monitor expenditures, analyze revenues and determine budget variances and report the same to the management.
  • To maintain the Asset Register of the Union.
  • Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentation.
  • Review and recommend changes to the existing accounting procedures.
  • To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Chief Accountant.

GENERAL MANAGER

Qualification and Experience:

  • A holder of Masters’ Degree or equivalent basic in Economics, Commerce or Business Administration.
  • Must have worked for at least 10 years in a big Organization or Cooperative Union holding a managerial position.
  • Computer literate and Writing/fluency in Kiswahili or English language.
  • Age limit 40-50 years

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Chief Executive Officer of the Union, hence reporting to the Management Board.
  • Secretary to the Management Board of the Union.
  • Convening all Board Meetings of the Union as per Cooperative Legislations.
  • Furtherance of the objectives of the Union towards its achievements.
  • Ensuring preparation of Progress Reports and periodic Financial Statements and submitting them to the Board.
  • Signing Contracts and Agreements on behalf of the Union.
  • Ensuring preparation of Annual Accounts and Balance Sheet for submission to the Board and Auditors.
  • Establishing a positive and conducive working network with other Institutions.

PERSONAL SECRETARY

Qualification and Experience:

  • Secondary School Education (Ordinary level) plus Diploma in Secretarial Studies from recognized Institutions
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Knowledge and Skills in Document management, contact with the public
  • Informatics, especially all window applications.
  • Excellent knowledge of English (working knowledge) Good oral and written communication skills
  • Personal Attributes – Ability to build positive working relationships in her/his area of activity
  • Ability to identify problems and provide solutions
  • Age limit 25-35 years

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain all hard copy and digital records for ongoing executive projects
  • Assist in creating and distributing meeting minutes for the Union meetings and other executive meetings.
  • Deliver and pick up Union’s business-related correspondence in the immediate geographic area.
  • Work with the Union’s administrative team to create spreadsheets and presentation information for management and Board meetings.
  • Prepare the conference room and Hall for sales presentations and meetings.
  • To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the General Manager.
