Job Purpose
The major purpose of such role is to focus on ensuring the delivery of
country Corporate and Investment Banking (“CIB”) revenues and NPAT, as
per the agreed budget, through delivery of the appropriate range of
banking products (Investment Banking, Global Markets, Transactional
Products & Services) to the Corporate and Institutional client base
within relationship marketing model of Corporate Banking.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
• Maintaining a broad network of external client and stakeholder relationships to gain leads for new business opportunities.
• Ensures solid delivery of customer expectations and service delivery.
• Monitors the external business and market environment and develop strategies as and when required.
• A team of senior managers including Heads of CBD, IB, TPS and GM
reports to incumbent. To leads such a team of senior managers by
agreeing on a business plan for each division and setting mutually
acceptable financial targets and key responsible areas with each
individual, ensuring a comprehensive CIB offering to our client base.
• Management of people: including performance management, recruitment,
career management, remuneration and personal development plans.
• Sets budgets and monitors performance against budgets.

• Is the overall custodian of Cross-Sell opportunities to our clients and key transactions.
• Designs appropriate structures to deliver the desired results and employs appropriate people.
• Incumbent is required to contribute to the overall Bank’s financial
performance by understanding and acting on opportunities for cost
efficiencies, cooperation with other areas such as Personal and Business Banking, Finance and Risk management.
• Responsibility for the maintenance of internal networks with internal stakeholders to build credibility and connectivity across all levels of the organisation albeit product, territory or region or sector expertise.

• Manage Reputational & governance risks of our overall banking
operations, serving as a member of key in country management committees
such as EXCO, Credit Committee, ALCO, New Product Committee, Risk
Committee and Business Approval Committee.
• Drives implementation of new products and objectives in line with changes in circumstance and environment.
Preferred Qualification and Experience
• Experience is variable depending on the educational level of the incumbent but in any case no less than 10 years in various business related fields and should have a strong background in banking.
• 8 – 10 Direct reports and 40 – 100 Indirect Reports
• Structure: Executive
Knowledge/Technical Skills/Expertise
• Tertiary education. Minimum Bachelors degree, preferably masters.
• Wide range of knowledge from country economic information, understanding of key industries and critical success factors for those industries, Central Banking policies, to Alco, Credit and Country risk. Must also must be competent in accounting theory, tax legal issues.
• Skills: Product knowledge, Risk (credit, liquidity, market, regulatory, interest rate, reputational and operational), Computer literate, Negotiation skills, Selling and Presentations skills.

Finance: budgeting and forecasting, creating interim and annual financial statements, facilitating internal mergers and acquisitions, as well as dealing with analysts and investors.
Job Purpose
The role is responsible for-:
Manage the CIB finance function to ensure the provision of key performance indicators (KPI’s) for the Corporate and Investment Banking unit for decision making and strategy development
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Strategy development and execution
• Participate in the setting of CIB Finance strategy and execution of overall CIB strategy
• Understanding of macroeconomics and external factors affecting the business strategies adopted and markets serviced by the bank
• Steering the annual budget process, revised estimates and forecast estimates
Management accounting
• Develop and implement reporting of key CIB management information ensuring data integrity and timely communication to relevant managers Designs, evaluates and advises on the organisations performance measures to ensure alignment with corporate strategy
• Ability to develop, analyse and monitor operational plans and budgets and recommend corrective actions as required
• Identifies, assesses and advises on information required for management decision making
• Ability to recommend organisational improvements based on results from management accounting systems
• Charing of the CIB products committee
• Understand business information needs between group and country and the realignment
• Provision of technical advice and accounting support to other CIB functions
Leadership by Influencing
• Lead a team of managers to execute on their functional areas with minimal supervision
• Though leadership in the CIB EXCO in challenging the formulation and execution of strategy
Managing relationships
Manage senior and Executive relationships mainly Country Head of CIB, Head of Client Coverage, Heads of TPS, GM and IB. CFO CIB Roa.
Managing people
• Develop highly skilled individuals for leadership positions in Finance
• Coaching and mentoring staff to achieve career goals
• Manage staffing requirements for the unit
Financial Analytics
• Financial modelling and data mining
• Analyse and evaluate data for acceptability and correctness
Preferred Qualification and Experience
• Minimum of 3 years banking experience
• Previous financial Modelling and data mining experience
• Experience in balancing financial and business performance and coaching non-financial managers will be an advantage
Knowledge/Technical Skills/Expertise
• Advanced computer skills (Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
• Understanding of IFRS
• Working knowledge of accounting software. (Knowledge of SAP, Bank Master or Branch Power will be an advantage)
