Job Title: Field Coordinator (Children Rights)

We are looking for a dynamic, passionate, and innovative professional with knowledge, skills, and experience in women/children rights protection to support the field-based implementation of “Support for implementation Fund for the Tanzania National Plan of Action (NPA) to End Violence Against Women and Children” Project. A three-year undertaking to roll out an intermediary role that seeks to support the implementation of the National Plan of Action to End Violence Against Women and Children (NPA EVAWC) in Shinyanga.

Role
The position will play key role in ensuring delivery of WFT mandate through supporting NPA-EVAWC implementing actors/partners on site in Shinyanga pilot district and communities through strengthened mobilization, coordination, collaboration and grantmaking to support implementation initiatives, partnering with research institutions for action led research for documenting implementation processes, knowledge generation and validation of evidence-based interventions that work based on the INSPIRE strategies for replication and upscaling.
The incumbent will be expected to:
  1. Support project implementation on site and coordination of project activities to ensure key project deliverables are realised
  1. Ensure supportive bridging of key stakeholders in Shinyanga through the implementation of broad base inclusive stakeholders’ engagement and collaboration strategy
  1. Support policy analysis and interpretation in the local level context to support evidence-based interventions and practices
  1. Maintaining project field budget and tracking expenditures/transactions
  1. Support building of broad base collaboration strategies and mechanisms to enhance implementation of the NPA EVAWC in Shinyanga
  1. In collaboration and support from senior project officer children’s rights facilitate provision of technical and operational support to government counterparts, NGO partners, and communities’ entities to better understanding and operationalise NPA EVAWC and INSPIRE framework, policies, strategies, processes and best practices on child protection and related issues to support program implementation, operations and delivery of results.
  1. In consultation with senior project officer children’s rights conduct regular field visits and surveys. Report on critical issues, bottlenecks and potential problems for timely action to achieve results.
  1. Support collection and monitoring of field results and manage knowledge generation including reporting on the use of sectoral resources. Ensure organizational standards of accountability and integrity are complied with and report on critical issues/findings.
  1. Carry out modalities for engagement with the civil society representatives, communities and local government and follow up on recommendations for inclusive representation and engagement of community leaders in the oversight processes vis-a-vis implementation of the NPA EVAWC and the INSPIRE framework
  1. Manage forward and backward communications linkages to ensure smooth communications between the key stakeholders, field office and HQ and Regional Authorities in Shinyanga

Job Title: Program Officer - Strategic Alliance Building

Roles
The core objective of this position is to strengthen strategic alliances and links between women’s rights organizations and women’s movement (s) in Tanzania and beyond for collective action in achieving women’s rights. Thus, this position requires a versatile individual with a mature head, knowledgeable and multi-skilled to coordinate, support and manage WFT’s Strategic Alliance Building portfolio. Under the general leadership of Head of Programs, the position holder will provide overall coordination/backstopping to coalition activities for strengthened strategic alliances and women’s movement building in the country and beyond, provide leadership in maintaining timely donor reporting and preparation of specific projects budgets.
The Program Officer will also s provide technical and programming support to WFT in the areas of policy analysis and positioning.

The incumbent will be expected to:
  1. Provide leadership in day to day management of the Strategic Alliance Building portfolio conceptual and programming framework and policy analysis and
  1. Provide leadership in development of position papers in relation to Strategic Alliance Building functions within the organization
  1. Foster and manage linkages and collaboration with national governance and coordination structures that affects rights of womens, their political and social participation and inclusion in the broader women rights’ spheres across the country
  1. Play a (pro) active role in linking up with and funding like-minded women’s rights organizations and networks in Tanzania and beyond through active participation, joint action and learning.
  1. Contribute to the further growth of an effective body of knowledge and analysis in feminism and women’s rights issues in Africa and beyond.
  1. Coordinate and advance the women’s rights agenda through deepened ties with international and regional women’s rights, feminist and allied movements.
  1. Contribute and play an active role in organizational planning and implementation of its SP
  1. Represent WFT to relevant forums/meetings on womens’ rights and related others within and outside the country
  1. Support the compilation, review, and submission of quality programme and donor reports on a quarterly, six monthly and annually
  1. Support the implementation of project performance indicators for results/impact measurement.

Overall Key requirements (qualifications and skills)
  • An advanced university degree in Gender Studies, Sociology, Social Work, Community Development, Law or other social science field required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible relevant work experience in project/programme planning, management and research in women/children rights
  • Strong interpersonal skills that allow for the development and maintenance of effective relations with key stakeholders in EVAWC processes including regional secretariat, Government, Ministries, Development partners, and the private sector
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multi-stakeholder projects especially in the field of children rights, women’s rights or rights-based interventions
  • Thorough understanding of social drivers/structural factors affecting vulnerable groups such as children
  • Thorough knowledge, skills and attitudes related to children’s rights promotion and human rights-based approaches to development and transformation

Specific skills.
  • Prior experience working with child protection frameworks e.g. NPA EVAWC
  • Knowledge of the INSPIRE Framework and evidence-based interventions in Tanzanian settings
  • Good analytical skills and report writing skills
  • Computer literate with advanced skills
