Community Development Officer (CDO)
Location: Dar es Salaam
Salary Currency: Tanzanian Shilling 

JOB SUMMARY

The CDO has to support the Project Manager in the implementation of a Quality Education Project which includes child protection and economic empowerment interventions.

JOB DESCRIPTION

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES AND TASKS

· Collaborate with the Project Manager (PM) to develop and conduct surveys, research and data collection from the field

· Support the PM in planning, attending and coordinating meetings, training and events on education,

· Disseminate communication materials to relevant stakeholders

· Identify target beneficiaries and conduct home visit in collaboration with local authorities

· Follow up entrepreneurship groups

· Follow up child protection interventions

· Follow up child clubs activities

• Help to raise public awareness on issues relevant to the community

• Prepare field reports, progress reports, activity reports and analyze these reports in terms of problems and actions needed

• Perform any other duty connected to the function and assigned by the project manager

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
§ Good mastering of English and Swahili (both verbal and written)
§ Good user of MS Word and Excel
§ Preferably experience awareness and sensitization campaigns
§ Preferably knowledge and experience in pre-primary and primary public education
§ Preferably knowledge and experience in children and women rights interventions
§ Preferably knowledge and experience in economic empowerment of most vulnerable groups
§ Experience of working with local NGOs, INGOs and government bodies would be an advantage
